Brantford CYO Tournament (Jan 13-15)

It was a tough tournament in Brantford for our novice girls.  A tough pool draw led to 3 losses and Sunday off.  The team fought hard in each game and got some good experience against some very tough competitors.

All the girls played great and had lots of fun!  Now it’s a week to get ready for our own tournament next weekend.

Lightning Strikes at Christmas Party

The KW Lightning Novice girls had a great Christmas party on December 17th at Morty's in Waterloo. 

The team enjoyed some great time together with loads of wings and pizza for all.

The girls did a fantastic job raising money to help pay for the team's expenses this year.  That meant it was time to hold the big draw for those great Leaf tickets!

In spite of appearances, the Corona bucket is not Coach's new hat — it is the well mixed random ticket draw drum approved by the supervising auditors.

A special thanks to Morty's for supporting the Novice team by providing the Leaf tickets for the fund raising draw.

To top off a great party, the kids all got grab bags…in case they hadn't already eaten enough.

Bronze Medal at Brantford Briers Tournament

The Novice girls are just back from the Brantford Briers tournament.  In the bronze medal game, Lightning vs. Brantford CYO, our Novice girls managed a hard fought 15-14 win.
